Selecting a method for non-destructive testing

For detecting a mismatch occurring in welded joints use a variety of test methods. Depending on the responsibilities and end structures selected individual, isolated flaw detection method or device (combination) consisting of several, preferably two parallel independent testing methods used.

Magnetic Testing MT
Method for the detection of surface imperfections in ferromagnetic welded joints. Before the test, the surface must be prepared - which should be free from scale, grease, oil, weld spatter and other substances that may affect the sensitivity of the tests.

Penetration testing PT

Used to detect welding discontinuity (discontinuity of the material) come out of the surface of the welded joint. They are normally carried out after a visual examination of welded joints.

Research eddy current ET

Eddy currents (Foucault) are the result of magnetic induction, which is formed in the electric circuit as a result of changes in the magnetic field. They arise in electrically conductive objects made of ferromagnetic metals (structural steel ferrite-pearlite) and magnetic (austenitic constantly, Metals independent), metals can be tested eddy current.

One of the most widespread and non-destructive testing methods have become a radiologist welds.

Ultrasonic testing UT

The principle of ultrasonic inspection involves sending a pulse to the test material through the camera head ultrasonic ultrasonic wave generated from the piezoelectric transducer.

Visual testing VT

They rely on careful examination, the surface of welded joints. Research visuals are basic examination used for all kinds of welded structures.
